Is KS+ Free?
No. The download gives you a free trial of 30 uses. After that you can purchase KS+ for $19.95 USD if you want to continue using it. The orignal KidSurf browser is still free and will always be free!

What is the difference between KidSurf and KS+?
KidSurf is designed for young childeren (ages 3 to 8). With KidSurf kids can only get to the sites that are allowed by the parents. KS+ is a browser designed for kids from 8 to 13. It allows full web browsing, but it uses advanced content filtering to block all inappropriate sites.

Does KS+ include the same Smiley Face Menu that KidSurf had?
Yes. The Smiley Face menu can be turned on or off depending on your child's preference. All of your child's smiley face web site choices will be saved if you install the KS+ browser.

How do I set my parents password in KS+?
From the top menu on the screen:

[Tools]->[Preferences]->[User Options]: Set your password on the Preferences screen. After you save your password you will be prompted for it when you access some of the parent's screens.

Can I hide the smiley faces?
Yes. [Tools]->[Smiley Faces]->[Hide Faces]

How does KS+ block web sites?
KS+ blocks sites by storing a large, predefined list of words that appear within the majority of inappropriate adult sites. As you child encounters a new web page the KS+ browser previews the contents of that page before it is shown within the browser. If any of the 'bad' words are in the page then the site is blocked.

Can I add my own 'bad' words to the blocking list?
Yes.

[Tools]->[Site Safety]->[Block Words]

How do I set a time limit on my child's web usage?
[Tools]->[Preferences]->[User Options]: Set a time limit.
When the time lmite expires your child will be prompted for a password to continue.


How do I stop my child from accessing my desktop?
[Tools]->[Preferences]->[User Options]: Disable the [Close] Button.
After you do that your child will need a password to exit the program.

How are pop-ups handled?
When you encounter a pop-up window, KSPlus will block it. You will see a prompt near the top of the screen asking if you want to allow pop-ups from the site you are on. You can always allow or temorarily allow pop-ups from a site.

If you ever change your mind after you selected 'Always Allow' then you can use:
[Tools]->[Site Safety]->[Manage Pop-Ups] to stop allowing pop-ups from a site.
